Program Helps Farmers

It's one organization working throughout the midwest that's helping people right here in North Dakota.

Sarah Gustin tells us how one organization made a big difference in one farmer's life.

For Elvin Agnew, he says they make the impossible...possible

(Elvin Agnew / Farmer) "Like the old farming. Back in the older days when all the neighbors would come in and get it done. That is what they are all about, personally helping." For producers, like Elvin, who are in need...Farm Rescue is the answer

Elvin suffered a stroke in the fall of 2006 and when spring planting time came...the organization answered the call

(Elvin Agnew / Farmer) "They quckly did it on time and they took the worry off of me." Farm Rescue planted 200 acres for Elvin, last spring.

Now Farm Rescue is gearing up to hit the fields again to make more producers spring planting hopes become a reality

(Elvin Agnew / Farmer) "I met the man that started this thing and he is very personable. He came out here and he just acted like he was my neighbor." Elvin says he won't be farming this year

He says he is leaving that up to his sons

But that doesn't mean he won't be in the field

He says he is taking this spring to give back to the organization that gave him so much

(Elvin Agnew / Farmer) "I felt very fortunate for them to be here and to consider me. I wanted to do something for them to say thank you." In Moffit, reporting for KX news, I am Sarah Gustin.

Farm Rescue plans on assisting 24 farmers this spring.

That's twice the number of farmers that they were able to help last planting season. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
